The late 1990s saw a number of courses open for play in Ireland, some in a blaze of national publicity, others to the welcoming applause of local golfers. Dunmore Demesne can consider itself among the latter. It opened in 1998 and certainly didn't need a national fanfare to show its worth. Indeed, highly respected golf course architect Eddie Hackett designed the course and was quick to describe it as a 'little gem', and rightly so. Dunmore is a scenic course, with mature trees and scenic landscape being its main feature.
