Normanton Golf Club celebrated its centenary just last year and its course was laid out on luscious parkland. Although only a nine-hole, it can be played as an eighteen-hole for which a par of 66 is offered as it only measures the relatively short distance of 5288 yards from the tee on the first hole to the pin on the eighteenth. Accuracy is absolutely vital if you are to score well here as there are tight fairways to negotiate and Out Of Bounds to avoid on several holes. At only £22 per round during the week, this course near Wakefield is certainly well worth visiting and will challenge both the discerning golfer and beginner to the sport.
