If you need any proof of just how good High Post golf course really is - Peter Allis rates it so highly he once said he would include the par four ninth hole on his 'Dream 18'. High Post hosted the South West Amateur Championship in 1998, the prestigious Carris Trophy in 1999, the Wiltshire County Championship on countless occasions and more recently, the Girl's British Open Amateur Championship. It is, quite simply, one of the finest venues in the country and one that deserves great respect. Past winners, incidentally, of the High Post Open include Andrew Sherbourne, David Howell, Zane Scotland and Justin Rose, all now established players in the world of professional golf.
