Hawtree Taylor was the golf course architect who lent his talents to the fantastic design of the lovely parkland course at Chigwell Golf Club. It first opened its doors to golfers in 1925 and since then has gone on to forge a great reputation for itself in the region amongst the many discerning club golfers in Essex. Some of the holes are quite long and so big hitters will be in their element as they stand on the tees ready to blast down the fairways. However, they will need to be aware of all the potentially scorecard-wrecking hazards that lie in wait, particularly the well guarded greens and excellent mature trees that line the fairways.
