Luke Donald to play at Royal Troon following Jaco van Zyl's withdrawal

Former world number one Luke Donald will contest next week's Open Championship after South Africa's Jaco van Zyl withdrew from the field for Royal Troon.

Donald missed the cut in his first five Open appearances, including the last time the Open was staged at Troon in 2004, but was 12th at St Andrews last year and fifth in both 2012 and 2009.

American Daniel Summerhays replaces Donald as first reserve, with compatriots Jamie Lovemark and Colt Knost next in line.
