Tommy Gainey (born August 13, 1975) also known as "Two Gloves" is a professional golfer on the PGA Tour and Nationwide tour.Gainey was born in Darlington, South Carolina. He attended the Central Carolina Technical College just outside of Darlington. He turned profesional in 2007 and played the the Nationwide Tour and got his PGA Tour card through graduating from Q-School, finishing the six rounds T-19, after going through all rounds.Gainey was on the Golf Channel's Big Break USA vs Europe, and The Reunion. He is the first Big Break alumni to earn a PGA Tour card, and played on the PGA Tour in 2008, but was not very successful for most of the season. He was 228th on the money list entering the last event of the season, the Children's Miracle Network Classic at the Walt Disney World Resort, on the Magnolia Course, he shot a 64 in the final round on Sunday and finished second only to Davis Love III by one stroke. This runner-up finish vaulted Gainey inside the top 150 on the money list, and gave him conditional status for the 2009 season.Prior to become a professional golfer, Gainey worked on an assembly line in South Carolina, wrapping insulation around hot water heaters. Before the final event of the 2008 season, Gainey had made $65,000 while making five cuts in 23 attempts.
