The northern isles of Orkney and Shetland have their fair share of golf course, including the most northerly 18 holes of golf in the UK at Whalsay on Shetland. The island's main course, however, is Shetland Golf Club and it is an exceptionally natural course that offers an experience unlike any other. It is an undulating moorland course with wide fairways and is a little hard walking. Burns run the full length of the course and come into play on a number of occasions.
