Established in 1890 as Sutton Boat and Golf Club, this prestigious nine-hole links golf course in north Dublin is certainly one of the leading nine-hole courses in Ireland. For years Sutton has been held in high esteem by the club's members and those who know it best, most notably because of the achievements of J.B. Carr, who fittingly has a room dedicated in his honour. Carr represented Ireland in ten Walker Cup matches, won the Amateur Championship on three occasions and was presented with the Bobby Jones Award in 1961 and the Walter Hagen Award in 1967. His association with Sutton Golf Club is legendary.
