The course is a pleasant, challenging 18-hole parkland layout with manicured rolling fairways and a liberal sprinkling of fine old trees. Its speedy greens have attained a standard of excellence and discerning visitors regularly declare them amongst the best to be found around the country. Although relatively short, its narrow fairways and punitive rough calls for accuracy off the tee and fairly good club selection. Each hole presents its own challenge, which can catch the unwitting golfer off-guard. Those with superior shot-making skills are likely to fare best.
