Based on designs by James Braid, Peterborough Milton golf club opened in its present form in 1938. Today, almost seventy years on, many traditions and values - indeed, even the thatch roofed clubhouse - remain intact, presenting golfers with an extremely pleasant round of golf. The course itself offers no time to ease into your round, with a vicious par 5 first hole, laden with hazards that lie in wait for wayward shooting. The fairway is bisected by a large pond that stretches out to embank the right side of the fairway, making for an extremely difficult tee shot. The approach to the green is difficult also: water guards the right and there are bunkers either side of the green. Good technique is vital.
