Jordan Spieth believes he can thrive in the windy conditions expected at the Dean & Deluca Invitational because of tweaks he has made to his swing.
The Texan is chasing a first victory in his home state and feels ready to deliver an improved showing at Colonial Country Club this weekend after a final-round 74 dashed his hopes at last week's AT&T Byron Nelson.
The 22-year-old world number two has struggled to maintain his lofty standards since the Masters in April, but hopes to again display his on-course artistry.
"I'm at a much more natural feeling right now than I was this past Thursday through Sunday in my swing, much more swinging with what my body wants me to do instead of fighting it, which was what I felt like I had been doing," he said at a press conference.
"It seems a lot easier for me right now.
"This week given the forecast it's going to take a lot of imagination.
"There's going to be 20-plus mph winds, I think that's going to really help me. I think that less focus on the swing, more results focus, imagination, p ainting a picture, working different trajectories and just being an artist out there I think is going to be really good for me.
"I'm pretty excited about the tougher conditions that are expected this week."
Favourite Speith, who was runner-up at last year's tournament, will be up against the likes of Adam Scott, Matt Kuchar, Kevin Chappell and Zach Johnson.
