Ryan Moore claims John Deere Classic

Ryan Moore claimed the fifth PGA Tour win of his career with a two-shot victory at the John Deere Classic.

The 33-year-old from Washington state carded a final round 67 to hold off the challenge of Ben Martin.

Moore held a one-shot lead into the final round and was three clear of Morgan Hoffman heading into the back nine on Sunday.

But Martin became the danger man after producing successive birdies at 12, 13 and 14.

Martin, however, could not find another birdie and Moore kept his nerve with eight closing pars to win a first PGA title since claiming the CIMB Classic in November 2014.

Speaking on Sky Sports 4, Moore said: " I was trying to make birdies coming down the stretch but I couldn't get any putts to go, in the end though I snuck it out."
