Rookies Spieth and Reed back in action for USA

The all-rookie US pairing of Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed were back out for a second round of Ryder Cup fourballs play at Gleneagles on Saturday.

Comfortable 5 and 4 winners over Ian Poulter and Stephen Gallacher on Friday, they faced up to Europeans Thomas Bjorn and Martin Kaymer, who halved their opener.

Should the Americans win, Spieth at 21 years and 62 days would be the youngest-ever Ryder Cup player to win two matches.

The last rookie pairing to win their first two matches together for America was Chip Beck and Paul Azinger in 1989.
