Rain ends Otaru action

29 Jul 2010 - 12:31:20

Heavy rain wrought havoc with the first round of the Sun Chlorella Classic as play was suspended with none of the field able to complete their opening 18 holes.

A group of five players that included veteran Shigeki Maruyama led the way on one under par when the day's action was brought to an early halt at Otaru Country Club.

Ryo Ishikawa was two over through seven holes and with 72 players unable to start their first rounds, tomorrow promises to be a busy day for the 144-strong field.
