Four-way tie for Singapore lead at HSBC Champions

Lorena Ochoa, Angela Stanford, Christie Kerr and Hee Young Park all carded rounds of 68 to share the lead following the first round of the Women's HSBC Champions at Tanah Merah Country Club in Singapore.

World number one Ochoa sank four birdies over her first 11 holes and although bogeys at the 12th and 14th threatened to spoil her round, she finished strongly by picking up shots at the 16th and 17th to end the day at four under par.

Stanford produced a bogey-free effort, while five birdies on her final six holes helped Kerr overcome a poor start that featured dropped shots at the first and third. Park, meanwhile, collected seven birdies but three bogeys took the gloss off what could have been a superb opening round.

The quartet led a group of four players by a stroke, while another six players stood two shots further back on two under.
