Isabelle Boineau completed a stunning victory at the Scottish Women's Open at Dundonald Links in North Ayrshire to clinch her maiden Ladies European Tour title.

The 27-year-old Frenchwoman seized the lead with one hole remaining on a final day that saw the lead change hands three times and made par at the 18th to finish 11-under for the tournament, one shot ahead of Swede Linda Wessberg.

Wessberg, who had led for most of the day, missed a four-foot birdie putt at the final hole that would have forced a play-off, while Boineau's round of 68 included five birdies and a bogey.

"What a tournament to win - the Scottish Open!" Boineau was quoted as saying on ladieseuropeantour.com.

"I'm so happy and I want to thank my parents and my sponsors for encouraging me to play even when I didn't want to. This is just one of the best days of my life."

Wales' Becky Morgan held a three-shot lead overnight but followed up her second-round 66 with a final round of 73 to finish joint-third alongside American Beth Allen, two adrift of Boineau and one behind Wessberg.

Boineau holed from 10 feet at the 17th to take the lead for the first time before Wessberg three-putted, while Allen needed a birdie on the last to tie for the lead but dropped a shot for a final round of 67.

Sweden's Caroline Hedwall earlier completed a course record final round of 64 to finish fifth.

English trio Florentyna Parker, Georgia Hall and Hannah Burke finished tied for sixth, eighth and joint-ninth respectively and Scotland's Vikki Laing shot a final-round 67 to finish 11th.
