With the addition of five new holes in recent years Muir of Ord is one of the Highland's most improved courses. A heathland course with tight fairways and known for its well-conditioned greens it presents an enjoyable round of golf. The course is dissected into three sections by way of the Inverness to Wick railway line, giving it a unique appeal. Founded in 1875 it has been developed in parts by James Braid and much of his work is still in existence today. It has an extremely tough stretch of closing holes but remains good fun all the same.
