The British mainland's most northerly course, Durness has only nine greens, although the construction of 18 tees allows for some diverse and interesting holes. Plus, there are enough natural hazards round here to keep you on your toes throughout your round. This is essentially a links course, despite a few inland holes, including the stunning par five sixth, bordering Loch Lanlish. Its finishing hole, though, is surely one of the finest in Scottish golf, as you have to play over a large gully - about 100 yards wide - to the green. A fantastic finish to a fantastic course.
