This course, under the ownership and guidance of the St Andrews Links Trust, is suited to beginners and children. It stretches to a mere 1, 520 yards and features bunkers and a double green to provide youngsters with their first real outing on a links. The Balgove has undergone various redevelopments since it opened in 1972 but it got a new lease of life in 1993 after it was redesigned during the same time as the Strathtyrum Course. The old Balgove was nothing more than a field yet now it presents an enjoyable test to any youngster's game and is, of course, well worth the diminutive green fee.
