The course occupies a historic area around the very attractive Kirk Loch. The tee shot on the second hole takes you on to the site of Bruce Castle and when playing the third hole you cannot fail to notice the huge defensive ditch which helped to protect the site. Lochmaben, from a gentle scenic point of view, is possibly one of the most attractive courses in Dumfries & Galloway.
