Locals insist, or the ones who play this course the most, that Gatehouse-of-Fleet has the best views in Dumfries and Galloway. And they wouldn't be too far wrong. The nine holes of the course present a good test of golfing skill all year round and, even better, winter greens are given the thumbs down as the course drains very well. There are some stunning views from all over the course, including Wigtown Bay, the Clints of Dromore and the massif of Cairnsmore Fleet.
