Killymoon was founded in 1889 and holds a rich history, as it was one of the founder members of the Golfing Union of Ireland. It is situated in the delightful Co. Tyrone, on the outskirts of Cookstown in the heart of Northern Ireland. The course, incidentally, takes its name from Killymoon Castle. An annual open week is staged in August. In addition, there are various amateur open events throughout the season, where some of the best players in the region all take part. The course is mainly parkland and reasonably flat, although it does pose quite a challenge to the unwitting golfer, so be on your guard at all times.
