Founded in 1921, St. Annes is an impressive natural links located on North Bull Island. The unique setting of this famous old links with the splendid panoramic views of Howth and across Dublin Bay ensures a most relaxing and enjoyable game of golf. North Bull Island is a bird sanctuary of major international significance, being an important wintering site for wildfowl. Thousands of birds use the salt marsh as a resting and feeding place. Perhaps the best-known symbol of wildfowl on the island is the brent goose. Legendary Irish golf course architect Eddie Hackett extended the course to 18 holes.
