Mullingar moved to its present location in 1937. Main features include rolling fairways that cut their way through mature timber to superb greens. The course was designed by legendary golf course architect James Braid and is set in a beautiful parkland location, with a fantastic variety of very old oak, beech, and various other indigenous trees to the area. The clubhouse was built in the early 1990s is a spacious and modern, open plan building. The course plays annual host to the highly regarded Mullingar Scratch Cup and, over the years, the cream of amateur talent throughout Ireland and Britain has each discovered the menace that lurks beyond the gentle opening hole.
