Wombwell Golf Club was founded in 1981 and is a popular public pay and play course. Unlike many municipal courses, it is remarkably well maintained and is in excellent condition almost all year round thanks to its dedicated team of greenkeepers, whose fabulous efforts must be commended. For a 'muni', it also measures quite a fair distance stretching for over 5000 yards on eighteen cracking holes. The course is further complemented by the driving range which is on site for you to practice your swing before you tee off, and also the fine bar and restaurant which is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a nice meal and cold drink after your round.
