Although still to celebrate its silver anniversary, the course at Thorne Golf Club has matured fabulously over the years. Designed by Richard Highfield, the course may not be the longest in the region - it measures only 5366 yards over eighteen holes - but it is still a fine challenge for golfers of all levels of ability, and benefits from a picturesque setting that makes a fine environment to enjoy golf in. Be wary of the water that comes into play on the 11th, 14th and 18th holes and also the 6000 or so newly planted trees that are growing quickly around the course. Anything less than an accurate shot is at a high risk of being punished by these hazards.
