The original course at Ben Rhydding was laid down between 1885 and 1895. The actual golf club, however, was formed in 1947. Clubhouse extensions took place in the mid 1990s to provide members and visitors alike with spacious new locker rooms and an enhanced clubroom. There is no doubt that Ben Rhydding is one of the finest nine-hole courses in England. If you don't believe us, however, the only way you're ever going to find out to play it yourself. The opening hole, a par five in summer, takes you east with the prevailing wind on your back - overshoot the green and you could find yourself out of bounds.
