A hidden golfing secret could easily describe The Craythorne. With spectacular views over both the Dove and Trent ValleyÂ’s and the Derbyshire Hills in the distance, this privately owned course combines great interest with challenging golf. On the tees at the top of the course it is worth stopping for a moment and looking around, because whatever time of year you play, the views are extraordinary. By modern standards the course is shorter that many but the degree of difficulty and easy walking make it ideal for golfers of all abilities. However, what the course lacks in length, it makes up for in strategy and shotmaking. Considerable improvements in design during the last 5 years have made the course both difficult and enjoyable to play.
