Designed by RR Stagg in 1973, this popular meadowland course is laid out over what used to be farmland and is, quite simply, a brilliant test of golf no matter your handicap. It features strategically placed bunkers almost wherever you look and, more often than not, they tend to catch out wandering balls, especially rounds the greens. A number of water hazards also lurk dangerously, so it's probably a good idea to invest in a strokesaver. Bicester, also referred to in some parts as Chesterton, is ideal for touring golfing parties but it is highly advised that, due to its massive popularity, you book in advance to avoid being disappointed.
