Canterbury may be a place that's been made famous thanks to the talents of a certain Mr Chaucer, but there is another man who should be given a pat on the back for what he has given the region. Harry Colt, the renowned golf course architect who is known for designing some of the greatest golf courses in the United Kingdom including the famous Wentworth, went to work at Canterbury many years ago with the intention of laying down a course worth playing in years to come. And, boy, didn't he succeed? Canterbury is a challenging parkland course, with some tight fairways and heavily wooded areas - keep your ball on the fairway! There are a number of tricky holes to negotiate, including some devilish little par threes.
