The course at Arkley Golf Club has the honour of having been designed by the legendary golf course architect James Braid. The man from Fife won the Open on five occasions and was just as adept with a pencil in his hand as a golf club, offering his golden touch to many of the most popular and well loved courses in Britain. The course was founded in 1909 and therefore recently celebrated its centenary. Although only 9 holes this splendid little course has been laid out so that there are in fact 18 holes, the back nine being greatly different from the front nine!
