The town of Portsmouth is a port of the south coast of England. Old Portsmouth, the original town, is located at the harbour entrance and has pretty cobbled streets. Portsmouth was one of the most important naval ports in the UK and is still the base of the modern Royal Navy. The historic ships - the HMS Victory, the Mary Rose and the HMS Warrior - can be seen at the historic Dockyard. The seaside town of Southsea in the southern part of Portsmouth and is a lively area with a pleasant promenade, public gardens, funfair and busy nightlife - and, of course, a superb golf course.
