Widely considered to be one of the UK's finest council courses, Walton Hall is not to be underestimated. It has some long and undulating fairways, lots of hard walking and requires a good range of shooting on your behalf if you are to score highly. It also has some truly excellent surroundings, played as it is, through wonderful woodland. It is sometimes hard to believe that this is a woodland course at all. The course is managed by Warrington Borough Council, who look after it very well and keep it remarkably maintained. Costing £13.50 during the week and £17.00 at the weekend, it represents excellent value for money, but be warned: the course is hugely popular so play can sometimes be a little slow.
