Antoine Rozner takes first-round lead in Amateur Championship

France's Antoine Rozner led by two shots after Monday's first stroke play qualifying round of the Amateur Championship in Wales.

Setting the course record at Royal Porthcawl, Rozner posted a seven-under-par score of 64 having recovered from dropping a shot on the second to notch six birdies and then an eagle three on the 17th.

Australian Cameron Davis - also playing at Royal Porthcawl - plus England's Andrew Wilson and Scotland's Barry Hume, who were both in action at Pyle & Kenfig, are in a three-way tie for second place at five under.

After Tuesday's second stroke play qualifying round, the leading 64 players and ties will go forward to the match play stage of the Championship, which is played at Royal Porthcawl from Wednesday until Saturday.
