Liberty National was named Tuesday as host of the 2017 Presidents Cup, with US PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem making it only the fourth US course to host the event.

The biennial golf showdown between US and International (non-European) squads will be played at the suburban New York course as part of a 25-year partnership that ensures up to 10 PGA events at the venue over that span.

The layout looking out upon the Statue of Liberty, which hosted the US PGA's Barclays tournament for the second time last week, will joined Muirfield Village, San Francisco's Harding Park and Robert Trent Jones in suburban Washington as US Presidents Cup host courses on September 28-October 1, 2017.

"The Presidents Cup has come so far in its relatively short history and seeing the world's best players compete in this market on this incredibly fantastic venue with such an amazing backdrop in 2017 is something fans of this great game will never forget," Finchem said.

Zimbabwe's Nick Price will skipper the Internationals against a US squad captained by Jay Haas next year in South Korea as the event is played in Asia for the first time.
