Jhonattan Vegas produced a stunning second round to take control of the Barbasol Championship.
The Venezuelan had a hole-in-one, an eagle and eight birdies as he missed out on the PGA Tour's seventh round of 59 by just one shot.
Vegas' 11-under-par 60 left him six shots clear of American Hudson Swafford in Alabama.
Starting on the back nine, Vegas started with two pars before picking up eight shots in his next six holes.
A birdie on the 12th was followed by an eagle on the 536-yard 13th, before a run of three successive birdies from the 14th and an ace on the 17th.
Another birdie followed on the second but a bogey five on the fourth left him needing to pick up four shots in the remaining five holes for a 59.
He managed three, birdying the fifth, eighth and ninth, to narrowly miss out on the achievement.
Vegas told pgatour.com: "I obviously thought (about 59) but I didn't want it to get in my way. I just wanted to make as many birdies as I could. I ended one shot away from 59 but I'm still pleased with a 60.
"(It was the) best round on the PGA Tour for me for sure. To top it off with the hole-in-one on the 17th - it was just a magical round."
Swafford had eight birdies and an eagle in his round of 63, but a double bogey on the 11th denied him the chance of a lower score.
His fellow American Michael Johnson is third on 10 under, with six further home golfers a further shot back.
Argentina's Angel Cabrera, who had shared the lead with Vegas after the first round, slipped 11 shots back after a level-par 71, while Scotland's Martin Laird fell from a tie for third to a share of 42nd after a one-over 72.
