Jim Furyk on Sunday shot the first 58 in PGA Tour history and became the first player to record two sub-60 rounds worldwide. Here, golf.co.uk looks at the seven times a player has signed for less than 60 shots on the PGA Tour.

Al Geiberger - 59 - 1977 Memphis Classic

Geiberger won 11 times on the PGA Tour and fired the first 59 in Tour history as he claimed his 10th victory. The American started on the 10th in his second round at Colonial and turned with six birdies before eagling the first. Four further birdies got him to the brink and an eight-foot birdie putt on the ninth secured a 13-under-par total and his place in history.

Chip Beck - 59 - 1991 Las Vegas Invitational

The PGA Tour would have to wait 14 years for another round in the 50s and it came from Chip Beck, although the American did not win at Sunrise Golf Club. He recorded 13 birdies in round three after starting on the 10th, including his last three as he finished with a three-footer. The 13-under-par effort helped Beck secure a tie for third.

David Duval - 59 - 1999 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic

Duval got to number one in the world in 1999 and it was also the year that he recorded one of the greatest finishes in PGA Tour history. With 11 birdies on his card, the American put his approach on the par five last at the PGA West Palmer Course to six feet for an eagle that secured both a 59 and the ninth of his 13 PGA Tour wins.

Paul Goydos - 59 - 2010 John Deere Classic

Goydos became the second man to go sub-60 and not win as he recorded 12 birdies at the par-71 TPC Deere Run. A seven-foot birdie putt on the last secured his 59 in the opening round but Steve Stricker opened with a 60 of his own and went on to finish at a tournament-record 26 under and beat Goydos by two shots.

Stuart Appleby - 59 -2010 Greenbrier Classic

The Australian remains the only non-American to get below 60 on the PGA Tour as he won at the par-70 TPC Old White. He had made an eagle and eight birdies in 17 holes in his final round and made another gain from 11 feet on the last to beat Jeff Overton by one shot.

Jim Furyk - 59 - 2013 BMW Championship

Furyk went sub-60 for the first time in the second round at Conway Farms but he would not win in Illinois. Starting from the 10th, the 2003 US Open champion played the back nine in 28 - highlighted when he holed a 115-yard wedge for eagle at the par-four 15th - and although he had a bogey on the front nine, a three-foot putt on the ninth secured a 12-under effort.

Jim Furyk - 58 - 2016 Travelers Championship

Furyk signed for the lowest round in PGA Tour history in the final round on the par-70 layout of TPC River Highlands. He turned in a stunning 27 with the help of an eagle on the second and a run of seven birdies from the sixth. There would be one more gain from 24 feet on the 16th to secure his place in history.
