Found right next to the town racecourse, Doncaster Town Moor golf course is a treat. One of the smallest courses in the area - only 5650 yards - it is arguably also one of the most challenging, as what it lacks in yardage, it more than makes up for in tricky hazards that require good club handling and unbroken concentration. The good drainage on the parkland, lowland heath ground makes the course playable virtually all year round. The greens and fairways are also immaculate and are clearly tended to well by the greens-keepers. A good drive from each of the elevated tees is vital as fearsome rough borders most of the fairways waiting patiently to smother any loose opening shot.
