Nestling behind the A2 underpass on one side and the Bexley Road, leading out of Eltham on the other, is Eltham Warren Golf Club, 17 acres of beautifully-manicured golfing history. Established in 1890, it pre-dates most other golf clubs in the area and was one of the founder members of Society of London Golf Club Captains in 1911 and the Society of Kent Captains in 1967. From very humble beginnings, Warren, as it is often called, is now regarded as one of the finest courses to play in the area and with its golfing prowess also well known and respected. The club wins more than its fair share of team competitions in Kent and individual members win honours representing their county.
