Thorbjorn Olesen fighting hard to secure Turkish Airlines Open

Denmark's Thorbjorn Olesen had a real fight on his hands to claim his fourth European Tour title in the Turkish Airlines Open on Sunday.

Olesen took a seven-shot lead into the final round at the Regnum Carya Golf & Spa resort in Antalya, but saw that reduced to two by the halfway stage thanks to a brilliant scoring burst from England's David Horsey.

Horsey carded birdies at the first, third, fourth, seventh and ninth - the latter from 30 feet - to race to the turn in 29 and pile the pressure on Olesen in the group behind.

Olesen had to hole from six feet to avoid three-putting the fourth and although he did birdie the fifth, another good birdie chance went begging from short range on the par-five seventh.

And when the 26-year-old three-putted the ninth to card just his fourth bogey of the week, the destiny of the title and first prize of just over one million euros was up for grabs.

Bernd Wiesberger looked to be the other main contender after four birdies in a row from the sixth took the Austrian to the turn in 30 and just a shot behind Horsey.
